Destemmed with 15% new oak; puncheons only. A good start for Brendan Hawker’s first vintage as senior winemaker. A medium ruby-crimson red. Brightly fruited with black cherry and plum fruit, together with a little spice. Medium bodied, this well-made wine has good depth, balanced by fine tannins and crunchy acidity.

Victoria’s first vineyard was planted at Yering Station in 1838 and today the winery remains true to its heritage as a family-owned and operated winery. As one of the country’s best-known cool climate regions, ideal for producing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the Yarra Valley has variable and long growing seasons, encouraging the expressive, varietal flavour and complex structure for which Yering Station is renowned.
