Grace Wine Cuvee Misawa Rouge 2017
Yamanashi, Japan
A blackish deep garnet colour spreads from the rim to the centre. Intense and opulent aromas of cassis, blackberry, cedar, graphite, iron, black olives, toastiness from oak, mocha, and coffee integrated in a complex but seamless manner. The attack on the palate is firm with rich and complex fruit flavours, sturdy acidity, ample but refined tannins all in harmony across the palate. Expect this full-bodied wine to age for a long time.

GRACE WINE – Yamanashi
Established in 1923 in Katsunuma, this family-owned winery established by Chotaro Misawa is now run by his fourth-generation successor Shigekazu Misawa, whose daughter Ayana is in charge of winemaking. The main-winery is still in Katsunuma and produces primarily Koshu. Since 1990 the family has been concentrating its efforts on improvements in grape production. The winery’s goal is a wine reflecting a unique combination of soil, sunlight, and altitude. It has been a pioneer in replacing conventional Japanese viniculture with vertical shoot positioning to produce a more richly flavoured grape. The goal is wines that are eco-friendly, with a natural, gallant and quietly elegant taste.
