Active effervescence with a persistent and beautiful release of tiny bubbles. The nose is complex, with overlapping notes of fresh citrus like grapefruit, apple, pear, honey, white flowers and yeast-derived brioche. On the palate, the attack is well-structured, with smooth, creamy texture for an extended period, and pleasant, vibrant acidity and minerality from terroir forming the backbone. Full and rich mid-late palate, with umami taste and a long pleasant finish. A dry single vintage Blanc de Blancs with rich fruit flavours and fresh acidity.

Winery Profile

GRACE WINE – Yamanashi

Established in 1923 in Katsunuma, this family-owned winery established by Chotaro Misawa is now run by his fourth-generation successor Shigekazu Misawa, whose daughter Ayana is in charge of winemaking. The main-winery is still in Katsunuma and produces primarily Koshu. Since 1990 the family has been concentrating its efforts on improvements in grape production. The winery’s goal is a wine reflecting a unique combination of soil, sunlight, and altitude. It has been a pioneer in replacing conventional Japanese viniculture with vertical shoot positioning to produce a more richly flavoured grape. The goal is wines that are eco-friendly, with a natural, gallant and quietly elegant taste.
