This is Villiera’s Vintage Prestige Cuvee. There has to be something at the top that is full and rich and can stand up to that main course. The Monro Brut is a blend of Chardonnay for finesse and Pinot Noir for richness and backbone. Most years, a small quantity of Pinot Meunier is included. Rich, creamy, yeasty nose, with a refreshing flavour on the middle palate developing finesse and complexity on the aftertaste. Extra yeasty flavour is provided by extended yeast maturation (5 to 7 years, depending on the vintage).
Blend: 65% Chardonnay, 27% Pinot Noir, 8% Pinot Meunier

The winemaking tradition of the Grier family began in the 1970′s with cousins Jeff and Simon Grier qualifying as oenologist and viticulturist respectively. Their pursuit of winemaking excellence found a home in 1983 with the purchase of the Villiera vineyards in the Stellenbosch Region. Today, award-winning winemaker Jeff Grier crafts a range of wines characterized by a strong reflection of Villiera’s unique terroir, maintaining the distinct aromas and flavours of the different varietals.
