Celebrating Klein Constantia’s 340th Anniversary with this limited release:
‘Tasting this wine in December 2024 was an unforgettable experience. It stood out as one of the most complex South African wines we have ever tasted. Its evolution continues with every revisit, offering new layers of nuanced aromas and flavours. Aromas of rose geranium, toffee, caramel, and walnut shell. Flavors of apple strudel, rhubarb, kai apple, and curry spice, evolving to savoury honey and a hint of saltiness. Layers of floral and herbal notes like lavender, buchu, chamomile and roasted sesame seed. The finish is long and enduring.’ – James Pietersen
‘The 2010 Vin de Constance has an elegantly balanced palate that delivers a bold yet intense honeysuckle, sandalwood, nutmeg and raisined Muscat all finished with a concentrated and lively acidity that helps to balance out the residual sugar. All of this helps create a completely unique flavour profile unlike any other before. It is vastly complex with sweetness that is perfectly subdued by bright acidity, creating the perfect wine that can be enjoyed now or aged for the next generation. The 2010 Vin de Constance represents a bold departure from the traditional style, offering a completely different expression of this iconic wine.’ – Winemaker
