Deep purple colour, with intense perfumed top notes of rose petals, cinnamon spice, black cherries and dark chocolate. A decadently rich and layered wine, with bold flavours of black cherries, dark plums and wild bramble fruit. The seamlessly integrated oak and velvety tannins add firm support and structure to the sultry fruit core. This is a big, complex and powerful wine. Match with curries, barbequed venison and beef, grilled game fish like tuna or snoek, roast duck with berry sauce and pork belly.

KANONKOP ESTATE – Stellenbosch
The name Kanonkop is derived from a kopje (hillock), from which a cannon was fired in the 17th Century to alert farmers of ships approaching the Cape. Today, Kanonkop is a fourth generation family estate situated on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain in the Stellenbosch Region. They have been described by those in the know as the South African equivalent of a Premier Cru or First Growth and their collection of international awards is testament to this success.
