Spicy,cloves,perfumed violets, Karoo shrub, whitepepper all lurking and poised. Intense, yet showing a silky, velvety feel. Beautiful elegance balances uber fine-grained, dry, polished tannins. Matches well with biltong, rare roast beef with pepper sauce, nutty cheddar. Beef short rib on the barbecue.

HARTENBERG ESTATE – Stellenbosch
The first settlers to cultivate the virgin land of the estate known as Hartenberg were in 1692. Today the winery remains in the safe hands of the MacKenzie family who took over in 1987 and have been following their vision of producing outstanding quality wine ever since. The winery itself covers 99 hectares of vineyard, comprising a total of nine different soil types and many different aspects and microclimates.
