The oak is sensitively applied, evincing a nudge of authority while letting further stone and tropical fruit allusions flow. The acidity, too, an honest representation of place: soft and effortless. Battle of Bosworth makes single vineyard, organically grown wine that expresses the unique characteristics of their family vineyards in the McLaren Vale foothills. Joch and partner Louise Hemsley-Smith established the winery in 2001, using vines that were planted in the early 1970s by Joch’s parents, and here they produce wines with purity and well-balanced texture and flavour.
