Kick off your Easter holidays with a bang! Before you head into the long weekend, join Wine N Things for a celebration of the boldest, spiciest, and most soulful grape of them all. Hosted by winemaker and educator Kyle Oosterberg, we’re exploring the incredible range of New World Shiraz / Syrah.

Whether you love the “Big & Bold” Australian style or the “Sleek & Spicy” Syrahs of the new-world, this is a masterclass in flavour. We’ll be tasting six world-class bottles from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa to see how one grape can be powerful, elegant, and everything in between.

The Lineup: 3 Countries, 6 Powerhouses

Australia: The Icon meets The Alternative

• Wine 1 – South Australia: Geoff Merrill Reserve Shiraz 2016 – The classic, rich, and velvety benchmark.
• Wine 2 – Victoria: Mount Langi Ghiran Talus Shiraz 2019 – Peppery, cool-climate elegance with serious depth.

New Zealand: Biodynamic meets Organic

• Wine 3 – North Island: Millton Clos De Ste Anne The Crucible Syrah 2021 – A biodynamic masterpiece: pure, vibrant, and alive.
• Wine 4 – South Island: Giesen Estate Clayvin Syrah 2019 – Organic, clay-grown intensity from a legendary vineyard.

South Africa: The Slate meets The Stone

• Wine 5 – Cooler Climate: Gabrielskloof Syrah on Shale 2022 – Taut, mineral, and sophisticated.
• Wine 6 – Warmer Climate: Bellingham The Bernard Series Basket Press Syrah 2020 – Rich, dark fruit meets classic basket-press structure.
