There is light dried straw much like the Scarecrow and yet with the pear prettiness of Dorothy. Fermentation on skins for 220 days in Amphora then pressed and bottled without fining or filtration. It is slightly cloudy and offers a perfect journey from our place to your glass.

“Grown not made” is the philosophy that duo James and Annie Millton follow to ensure their wines portray a sincere expression of Gisborne terroir. Considered pioneers in biodynamic wine, Millton Vineyards have been crafting wine using low-impact techniques since their very beginnings in 1984. They were one of the first to achieve Demeter certification, guaranteeing the highest standard of biodynamic agriculture and horticulture. To further solidify this commitment, in June 2012, James Milton was named a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit as recognition for his services to the New Zealand wine industry.
