Grace Gris de Koshu 2016
Yamanashi, Japan

Limpid, bright, light lemon yellow with a slight tinge of grey. Medium intense aroma of green pears, mandarin and its peels, spicy aromas of white pepper and clove, and a touch of iodine. Mellow attack on the palate, dry with a hint of sweetness, lively acidity, flavours of citrus and spice, and a touch of bitterness as accent. A pleasant to drink wine where flavours from the Koshu grape skins are nicely extracted.

Alc. 12%

Winery Profile

GRACE WINE – Yamanashi

Established in 1923 in Katsunuma, this family-owned winery established by Chotaro Misawa is now run by his fourth-generation successor Shigekazu Misawa, whose daughter Ayana is in charge of winemaking. The main-winery is still in Katsunuma and produces primarily Koshu. Since 1990 the family has been concentrating its efforts on improvements in grape production. The winery’s goal is a wine reflecting a unique combination of soil, sunlight, and altitude. It has been a pioneer in replacing conventional Japanese viniculture with vertical shoot positioning to produce a more richly flavoured grape. The goal is wines that are eco-friendly, with a natural, gallant and quietly elegant taste.
